A Spring Celebration In The Nuy Valley

The evening was perfect, balmy, windless with a promise of summer. Perfectly groomed gardens all around us as we mingled on the manicured lawns under the stars at Leipzig, right here on our doorstep in the Nuy Valley a mere 10 or so kilometres from Worcester.

This was a celebration of good food, good wine and beautiful music.  An excellent job was done by the chef, each plate carefully selected to suit the wine.   Just so the wine master selected the best wines to compliment the beautifully prepared dishes so that each could shine in its own right.

Well done not only for the splendid evening, but, for coming up with a unique concept where the selected music interpreted what we tasted.  Well done Vian and Lida for a delightful evening.   I would like to suggest this becomes an annual celebration of your harvest.

Congratulations too for the very prestigious Veritas Award for your Gold for the 2014 Master Blend! Silver for White Leipzig 2014 & Bronze for Sauvignon Blanc 2015!  We’ll be sipping and telling stories about the fabulous evening all summer!

“Ideally positioned on scenic Route 62, and just 90 minutes from Cape Town, this historic establishment offers the discerning traveller luxury accommodation, breath-taking scenery and old-fashioned country hospitality.

Combining original Cape-Dutch architecture with carefully constructed modern conveniences; the farm as it stands today has 20 luxury guest suites and spacious event and recreational facilities to accommodate both large and small groups. With their sincere appreciation of history and a love for restoration, the Smit family, together with the artist couple Anastasia and Alexander Lochenkov, has carefully and patiently created an old-village atmosphere on this 200-year old working wine farm.” Describes this magnificent destination perfectly.
