Hi, faithful readers, blog followers, or first-timers. We truly appreciate your support and hope you can share your insights.

We are getting excited about our adventure in Africa, which we hope will begin in the next few weeks.

One thing we have picked up from reading various blogs by others who have done such trips is the value of contacts when arriving in foreign towns or countries, whether it is to find a place to park the Badger, a referral to a good, trustworthy mechanic or electrician, or a wheel fundi (we've had our fair share of problems with those), or tips and tricks on good roads vs. bad roads, places of special interest or places to avoid, and off-the-beaten-track gems or tourist traps. Your favourite destination or the pit stop you loathed and would avoid at all costs! We also welcome any personal travel tips or memorable experiences you'd like to share that could help us have a smoother trip. 

We are therefore asking whether you have any friends or contacts anywhere in Africa. Please reply to this message with that person’s name and contact details, plus any relevant information.

We will NOT abuse this, but it could be very important for our safety and enjoyment. We don't want to end up as two Nincompoops stuck in the wilderness without guidance.
