Eat: Hemel and Aarde

Eat your heart out.  What a pleasant surprise! Right in the heart of the Hemel and Aarde Village, a restaurant with soul. Intimate seating arrangements in separate rooms, outside dining for warm, sultry days and evenings. The entire family can be accommodated, and even the children will feel at home. Concise menu that covers a range of cuisines, from Asian fusion to Pizzas.

The staff is friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable. We loved the tempura prawns for starters. My pork belly was scrumptious, and I'll be back for that. The rump steak with marrow bones and a red wine jus looked delicious, and there were nods all around confirming this. The hamburger looked divine, a good homemade patty with all the freshest trimmings. Seafood was a winner. Unfortunately, we didn't indulge in the dessert menu, but the choices looked good, and I had to drag myself away and use all my willpower not to tuck into one of them.

The wine list was comprehensive; it was good to see a well-balanced selection of local wines. We'll be back for sure.
