 Fernkloof Nature Reserve: Hermanus

A monkey's wedding must be a good omen for a bride and groom I think.  We attended a beautiful, romantic wedding in Fernkloof a week ago, besides the gorgeous bridal couple, Fernkloof stole the show, as it always does, we even saw baboons on the lawns, they came out of hiding to make our day so special. It rained, the first for a very long time, we've been blessed with a very special summer and I think the rain was the cherry on the wedding cake. Made us all come closer, chat, share memories of other brides who were late, I think every visitor to Hermanus should go for a walk or hike in Fernkloof, to miss it would really be sad.. pack your hiking boots or walking shoes at least, make the effort you'll not be disappointed. I've been many times over the years and every visit has been a special one. I think you could even get a guide for a day who'll look after you. Enjoy the incredible plant Kingdom of the Western Cape, the vistas, the waterfalls and fresh air.    A very good option would be Billy Robertson of Walker Bay Tours a guide who knows the area very well having grown up there.  Billy has an excellent knowledge of the Fynbos and birds.   He's a great raconteur who tells of the area and it's people beautifully.     Billy does various walks and can recommend other place of interest and things to do.  His contact number is +27829263612 to walk a place means it's indelible.
