Indochine: Stellenbosch

There are no flies on this one. I could write a book and call it "A Hundred Places to Eat Before You Die." Indochine would probably take top honours. This is my second visit, and I was as overwhelmed, excited, and impressed as the first time! It's just amazing, and everyone should go there at least once in a lifetime.
The architecture is great, the view unsurpassed, we had the most fantastic sunset ever (and I know my sunsets). The Art inside and out gives me a knot in my stomach; it's so beautiful.
A magnificent sculpture has been suspended from the ceiling, a flock of swallows that alone could've done it for me. I cricked my neck, couldn't keep my eyes off it! Now the menu, amazing, fantastic, I can't call the flavours anything but perfumed infusions. We enjoyed every morsel; we must admit we overdid it with our selection, but we have no conscience! Every course was a culinary masterpiece. I must mention the finishing touch.
My chamomile tea was served perfectly, with a timer, mind... had to be infused for exactly 3 minutes, so when the last grain of sand ran out, I could sip my tea in contented wonderment. The staff are all well-trained, friendly, professional, and ordinary guys like you and me.
