Ryan's Kitchen: Franschoek

The cherry on my birthday cake is a Ryanstone. My meal here was a visual and culinary feast par excellence. Sadly, it seems as if Ryan and his wife Svetlana have closed the doors at their current venue in the Main Road, a beautiful old Cape Dutch Homestead, with a well-appointed dining room, and my very best, an open kitchen, so diners can see exactly what's happening there, be assured it's one of the most professional kitchens I've seen, runs like a well-oiled machine.

We had a scrumptious dinner, an experience we'll not forget for many moons. Loved the offering from the lab," test tubes filled with delicious soups,” But we wish them well and hope we'll see them somewhere else cooking up a storm.

Fortunately, I've just seen this on little notice, which I give you with joy:
Following a tumultuous last couple of weeks and due to circumstances beyond our control, it is with some regret and sadness that we announce that Ryan's Kitchen will close at its current location on the 31st of July 2014.
The new owners of the property have their own development plans, and it was finally decided yesterday between the parties that we part amicably. We will be taking a much-needed short break, and Ryan's Kitchen will be returning, but this time in a new, bigger venue, ready to serve the same innovative, exciting food that our valued guests have come to expect.
We intend to remain here in Franschhoek and will keep you updated on the progress of the brand-new Ryan's Kitchen! We thank you for your support and much appreciate it, and look forward to our relationship continuing.
With kind regards
So, as soon as we hear they're up and running, we'll be there for another mouth-watering, jaw-dropping experience! Bravo!

UPDATE: I saw an article by Ryan saying they've found a new location in Franschoek and will be back in business in the not-too-distant future. I'm sure that for the summer, they'll be up and running. Good, I can't wait to make a reservation. The break will have served as an excellent time for Ryan to rest and get inspired to cook up a storm.
