First Milestone

Whoop-Whoop it’s a milestone, it’s a milestone, 30 continuous days of taking photographs!  One 12th done and dusted!  That deserves a Noddy badge.   With only myself to blame for this I’ll have to pat my own shoulder!

Now this is exactly where the problem starts.   I have guests who are famished; they need breakfast, so no early morning start.   Guests have arrived for drinks, so no midmorning walk-about.   Just the vine turning orange as fall approaches.

The Cape White eyes are frolicking in the birdbath, I can see them from my perch in the sitting room, and I chomp at the bit but who cares?    At last I set up my 100mm-400mm lens, new fully charged battery and kick out the tri-pods legs, I leopard crawl onto the veranda, position myself neatly behind the pillar so that they don’t see me, sit quietly, not a movement or a breath will give me away... except the neighbour sees me and waves, with it go the birds.   I sat while my legs, arms, neck and shoulders cramped.  Not one bird dared go anywhere near that bird bath.  I've resorted to posting the proof of a birdbath!

At 18h00 when the sun set my friends arrived for a sundowner (as one does) and I packed it all in.  I’m ashamed to say I only have these photographs today.  Better luck tomorrow I hope.

The pickled fish we made 10 days ago is ready for our light supper.

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”
