Whooping For A Hoopoe

Whoop-whoop. Our resident African Hoopoe returns daily, and I'm thrilled to see him again. He’s up to his old tricks, and I’m excited every time. Today I was ready for him. He appears at about 10H00 every morning, and nothing deters him. My contributions today are just him. He has my exclusive attention.  While clacks I'll click.

Used my longest lens, got as close as possible without chasing him off to greener pastures. Here he is digging in the lawn for grubs. Just as I was going to pack up my camera, he got what he was looking for, and I got one shot. It isn’t all that sharp, but what the hell, it made the waiting worth it. Patience really pays off, and I hope it inspires you to keep trying.
